Book Cover

This project is a project that came from one of our substitutes at Huntington North. He had asked Mr. Manco to have us students make a book cover for his out coming book called The One Minute Message. He asked that we included a Double Helix strand in the cover and that we included four words onto the double helix. He also asked that the color theme lasted throughout the whole cover. So that is what I did.

Movie Poster

For this project we had to create a poster using real life images we took and had to place variations of text and colors to set off our genre. Adding extras like release date, actors names, and the rating all could have made the movie poster more life like.

Cereal Box

The object of this project was to create a cereal box by drawing out cartoons. We first had to sketch out cartoons of three people, three animals and then our maskcot. I choose to use a monkey as my maskcot because I absolutly love them. The monkey on the cereal box is one I drew and scanned in, the bowl I also made in adobe illustrator. After I made my bowl I made my cereal pieces using bananas and monkeys. After I got my maskcot in and my bowl done I made my background using a gradient and stamps, afterwards I placed in my title and quote.

Prom Poster

For the prom poster this assignment was more for us to have something to do but did end up getting graded. This is the prom poster that I choose to be graded but mix-ups happened and a different one instead got graded, but with this I found a cool picture that represented Central Park since that is the theme for Prom of 2011 and I changed a bunch of settings on this photo so it could be claimed as mine. I made it so that it was becoming night time and so that the colors seemed to be more real instead of being unreal. Than I choose a font that I thought looked really sweet and professional. Than I typed out my title and changed it to fit the picture. After that I added the required information also in a text I thought to be sweet and professional, than I added a gradient to the font to try to give it an effect of a sun set because that is what I thought fit the Photo.

Below: Other Blow-off prom poster
This prom poster is just something I did because I had extra time. This product I did not believe to be a good piece of art work. First off this poster did not meet all the requirements, becuase it is missing information. Second off this is an amature piece of work becuase it has to much going on in it with the ugly colored text, the hearts that really don't go with the idea of prom and with the music notes that are randomly scattered serving no perpose. The only out come to this poster I truely admire is the stamps of the people and how the act as they are walking down the path.

Silhouette

This project was the Silhouette project. For this I got three posed pictures taken, in which to I had to cut out and make into the background. I choose a main picture in which I did not cut it out and placed it in the center of my piece. I choose red, black, and white as my color scheme because red is my favorite color and plus the colors went with my outfit. I choose to do a gradient in the background and tried to make them work to where I would blend into it. With my silhouettes I choose also to do a gradient but in a different setting and than I added an outline to more clearly define them, afterwards I placed stamps all around the piece to reflect on the things I enjoyed.

Imagination

For this project we were to choose a favorite past book and were to create that setting around us. We we to take photos of us holding a book and than place characters for the book we choose all around us and into the book also, to make it look sort of like a pop-up book.

Mosaic

For this project we had to take a photo and break it into 36 1in. boxes after we broke our picture down we changed each box using filters to make them look different.

15 Minutes

In this project we took a head shot photo and minipulated it into four different layers all having a different color scheme. The first top left hand photo was changed using a monochromatic scheme by changing the hue saturation. The second right top hand photo ws changed using a complementary scheme. The bottom left hand photo was used as a split-complementary scheme. The last photo was changed with a triadic scheme in which I choose the primary colors of red, blue, and yellow.

Bottle Cap

This is the first assignment for this semester in digital design. For this assignment we used a picture of a heart off the internet; took it into photoshop and made it our own, we had to make a binding circle around it so that way we could see how it would look when it got hole-punched out. We needed to make a circle around it that way we didnt have anything important get cut out, we also had to create and make a banner, and then had to put text into the banner. With adding text we were suppose to warp the text that way it would look nice inside of the banner. After we got our picture put together; we printed a copy out, hole-punched it, and glued it into a bottle cap.
